Attention Ping Pong

July 1st, 2015

Remember the beginning of the year when you took a moment and laid out what you wanted to accomplish this year? For me I don’t just do this at the beginning of the year, I am constantly evaluating my goals and deciding what I do or don’t want to proceed with. Hopefully what I decide does fall in line with the goals I set at the beginning of the year, but in the end it is ok if your goals and priorities shift over time.

All of the above does not mean that you aren’t focused or that you flip flop on what you say you are going to do.

For me though I feel like in any given week I may ping pong my feelings on my goals. I may start the week feeling good about really focusing on building products, and may end it with wanting to focus on client work. One end of the spectrum to the other all in a week. It’s always easy to feel the grass is greener on the other side.

How many times have you changed your mind about what you need to focus on in your career or business? Maybe this flip flopping you do is all in your head, but I think we all have these thoughts on a regular basis. It’s ok that things change from time to time. For me though, I need to reel it in every once and awhile.

Freelancer, I want to hear from you. Do you deal with this too?
